Hello Stranger...
I realize I haven't written anything in several months and though I strongly suspect no one reads this for that among other reasons, I feel compelled to post something! Life has changed a lot since November - notably that I am almost 6 months pregnant! Baby girl #2 will join our household in July as my ever-growing tummy attests (Emma says "it keeps getting bigger & bigger...!). It is hard to imagine a fuller life, but I know having a baby, even the 2nd time will change everything.
Emma continues to grow and change and daily astounds me with her memory and her ability to burst into tears at a moment's notice! The drama of the life of a 2 1/2 year old. This morning it was that she didn't like how the inside of her socks felt on her feet, and screamed like she was bleeding profusely when she stood up! Turning the socks inside out was equally as distressing since there were "strings" on it that she couldn't bear to look at. This occurance of course immediately induced another fit of hysteria. I am beginning to stop reacting...someday soon when she can understand it, I plan to tell her the "Never Cry Wolf" story! Somehow I don't think it would make much difference at this point in our lives...
Corey and I are going to enjoy a rare night on the town - I bought tickets for us to see Ray Romano in concert tonight. Emma is excited because her favorite teacher, Miss Kelly (Walton) has graciously agreed to babysit. We are quickly nearing the phase of life where we need to hire babysitters - all of our usual options are having their 2nd babies and its getting harder to ask them! How old is old enough for a babysitter to come keep your kids? I know I was in middle school when I started babysitting, but I can hardly imagine leaving Emma with a 12 year old!
Our favorite babysitters, Aunt Holly and Uncle Bubba (aka Ben) are officially moving away much to our sadness. We are thrilled that they are answering God's call to minister at a church in Houston where we know He will use them in mighty ways, but the selfish part of me wants them to stay! What an enormous blessing they are to our lives. We will miss our weekly Thursday night dinners and conversations, the random and always welcome visits (especially from Holly), and being able to be involved in the daily things of each other's lives. Emma doesn't know yet that they will be moving in June, and I'm not sure how to explain it. In her world, everything revolves around her - including Holly & Bubba! What a gift for her to have an aunt and uncle who love her like she is their own. We are all so blessed.

My ever-persistent bladder calls. We got DSL, so hopefully I'll be a more regular contributor to the world of blogging!
